Jakamosouth Fishing Guide Service
Jakamo South, established in 2007, specializes in year-round inshore charter fishing trips. Harbored in Shell Beach, Louisiana, a small fishing village in eastern St. Bernard Parish, we fish the Breton Sound region. This includes Hopedale, Delacroix, Point. a la Hatch, Biloxi Marsh, and the Chandeluer Islands.
The coastal marshes of Louisiana are world renowned for their abundance of fish species and waterfowl habitat. Our fishing charters target species such as redfish, speckled trout, flounder, and sheepshead.
All skill levels from small children to the seasoned angler are welcome. We can accommodate large corporate groups, team building activities, bachelor parties, a nice family outing, and anything in between.
Captain Jakamo
Captain Jacques Laboureur, also known as Captain Jakamo, was raised in southeastern Louisiana and has spent his entire life on the water studying the patterns and habitat of the fish. He grew up fishing with his father where he developed both his thrill of the hunt and respect for the sea. Even as a small boy, he knew that he would grow up to be a charter fishing guide. With Louisiana’s bountiful waters and Captain Jakamo’s knowledge of the area, it’s not uncommon to come back with a full limit of trout and/or redfish … that’s 15 trout and 4 redfish per person! Fishing is not just a career for Captain Jakamo, it is a true passion, as he currently spends more than 200 days per year on the water. He takes great pleasure after a beautiful day on the water, sending you home with dinner to share with your family, as well as some of the best fishing memories of your life!
2016 Metal Shark
Ride out towards the coastal bays in comfort under the t-top of our 30 foot Metal Shark. This Louisiana custom-made boat is powered by twin Yamaha 300 hp motors, and fully rigged with Simrad electronics, twin power poles, 101 lbs thrust trolling motor with spot lock technology, and a bumping JL audio system to rock out between fishing spots. This is the ideal vessel for our long runs into Breton Sound in search of hammer speckled trout and monster bull reds. That being said, she is still skinny enough to fish for slot redfish in the interior marshes.
